Honda Civic SI Vs Honda Civic R

Honda Civic SI Vs Honda Civic R

The Honda Civic was first introduced to the public back in the 1970s. Back then, the Civic was known as a fast and reliable sedan. Today, the Civic has gone through many changes to ensure that it is still one of the most impressive vehicles on the market.

Instead of having one model to choose from, there are now several Honda Civic models available. Whether you are looking for a fun sports car, or you need a well-equipped family sedan, there is a Honda Civic available that will fit your needs. Two of the most talked-about models are the Honda Civic Si and the Honda Civic Type R. While both of these cars offer a wide range of impressive features, they both offer their own set of unique equipment that gives you a one-of-a-kind driving experience. To help you determine which car is right for you, here is a look at how the Honda Civic SI compares to the Honda Civic Type R.

The Honda Civic Si

The Civic Si takes the regular Civic Sedan's body and enhances it in order to transform it into a fast and exhilarating sedan. This year, the Si has been redesigned to feature a more stunning design and enhanced performance. This impressive model comes with a powerful engine under the hood, a wide range of standard safety features, and an ultra-stylish interior.

Honda Civic Type R

The Type R combines the Honda Civic Hatchback's construction with a high-performance engine and state-of-the-art technology to provide drivers with a thrilling ride. The car is athletic and agile. Its aerodynamic and compact body allows it to stick to the ground like glue, which allows drivers to take sharp curves and go at high speeds with ease.

Interior and Exterior Design Comparison

The Type R and the Si may share a name, but at first glance, you can tell that these are two completely different vehicles.

On the exterior, the Type R looks like a sporty hatchback that is highlighted by a compact body, 20-inch wheels, and a large rear spoiler. In the front, both the Si and the Type R feature LED headlights and a slender and sporty grille. However, the Type R has a more athletic front fascia that comes with air vents in the front bumper and the hood.

On the inside, the Type R and Si have shockingly similar designs. In both vehicles, bright red accents on the door panels, seats, air vents, and other areas throughout the cabin help to spice up the elegant black interior. Both vehicles also offer spacious seating in both the front and the back rows. They also come equipped with high-performance sports seats that offer an additional level of comfort.

When it comes to infotainment displays, the Si comes standard with a 9-inch touchscreen that sits proudly on top of the dash and can be accessed by simply touching the screen or utilizing the easy-to-reach button and knobs. The Type R comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen that is conveniently positioned on the dash. It also comes with a set of buttons and knobs to use, and both displays come standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Engine and Performance Features

This year, the Si has a new, specially-tuned chassis and a powerful four-cylinder engine that work together to deliver an impressive and fun driving experience. Under the hood of the Si is a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that is able to deliver up to 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. The car comes with a Drive Mode Select system and also only offers a 6-speed manual transmission to help you feel more in control when you are behind the wheel.

Under the hood of the Type R is a standard 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that is able to deliver a heart-stopping 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Like the Si, the Type R also only comes with a short-throw 6-speed manual transmission that delivers a precise and controlled driving experience.
