A Planning Guide For Honda Indy Toronto

With the pool of talent available and all kinds of activities for fans throughout the weekend, Honda Indy Toronto is going to be fantastic! Here is what you need to know about Honda Indy Toronto 2019.

Honda Indy Toronto Tickets

Honda Indy Toronto tickets are now on sale and going fast. Get yours today! There are a number of packages available, depending on which experience you’re curious about and how often you’d like to visit.

The best deal is to attend on Fan Friday, a fan event sponsored by Honda Dealers. Admission is free with a voluntary donation made to Make-A-Wish Canada. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.

General admission is $40 for one day or $55 for a two-day pass.

General admission is free for children 12 and under, but they must be accompanied by an adult who has purchased a ticket. Note that general admission tickets don’t include seating in the grandstand or access to the pits.

Grandstand tickets include admission to the event and a reserved, specific seat in the grandstand. Admission to the pits is not included (unless you purchase a 2-day, Gold level grandstand pass). Weekend grandstand passes are $185 for gold level, $130 for silver level and $85 for bronze level. Single day grandstand passes are available too (for either Saturday or Sunday). A silver pass is $95, and a bronze pass is $70.

A 3-day pit pass is $125. The pit passes grants access to the pits during support series, on-track racing action and for IndyCar practice, qualifying and pre-race events. However, admission isn’t granted during the Sunday afternoon race.

A 3-day paddock pass is $65 and a single day paddock pass is $40. With a paddock pass, fans get access to the “garage” of the event. Event organizers describe it as having access to the locker room during a sporting event, like hockey or football.

There is a special opportunity for young racers, aged 5-12. With the purchase of a Rookie Racer ticket ($25), they get a hands-on, up-close experience with cars and drivers.

Honda Indy Festival

Honda Indy Toronto isn’t just about the racing. It’s about a weekend-long festival with food, drink and entertainment of all kinds taking place on the streets around Exhibition Place near Lake Ontario and downtown Toronto. There are food trucks, beer gardens, interactive displays and experiences, show cars, autograph sessions with drivers and more.

Just to give you an example of what you can expect at the festival, there is a Blue Jays batting cage, a golf swing zone, a hockey slap shot zone, free snow cones and popcorn, Honda racing simulators, live entertainment, Honda vehicle display and lots more.

Honda Indy Road Closures

Commuters should plan ahead, as a number of road closures for the Honda Indy Toronto will mean delays when travelling. Anticipate for an hour delay during morning and evening rush hour and up to 30 minutes during other times of the day over the course of the event and the days preceding.

From Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at 8:00 p.m. to Sunday, July 14, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. Lake Shore Boulevard West will be closed from Strachan Avenue to British Columbia Road.

Public transit will be affected as well, with severe delays on GO bus routes 16, 21, 31 and TTC 501 Queen and 504 King.
